Our Primary Student Support Department (SSD) recently invited staff from the Islamic Museum of Australia to facilitate an incursion for our Year 6 cohort, which focused on mindfulness and art-based therapeutic practices.
The incursion aimed to educate Year 6 students on the Islamic perspective of mindfulness. They explored various techniques to calm themselves during moments of panic or the fight-or-flight response, engaging in both discussions and hands-on activities.
The students particularly enjoyed the art-based activity, which added a creative dimension to their learning experience.
