The 5th annual World Teachers’ Day was celebrated at the College with an afternoon function for all staff on Friday, 28 October 2022. The event was organised and hosted by our Student Representative Council (SRC) as an opportunity to honour the hardships as well as to acknowledge teachers' special role in students’ lives at 51Թ. Our teaching staff are supporting pillars who play an important role in guiding the students throughout their life at school.
SRCs marked Australia’s Teachers Day with the theme “Hats off to Teachers”. Staff were invited to bring their favourite hat along on the day for a lucky draw. A photo booth was also set up. Our Media Captains Zainab Rida and Mohamad Otman were the event photographer and videographer.
Outgoing 2022 College Captain Nur Naziihah Hafidi was the mc of the event, with co-hosts Osama Akkad, Badis Sai and Adam Najem from Year 11 conducting games and lucky draw activities for staff. It was a day full of excitement, activities and special performances organised by the students. Ayoub Godfrey opened the ceremony with a Qur'an recitation, followed by a poem recitation from Amirah Jumale and Ruqaiya Wazze.
The traditional cake cutting was carried out by Head of Secondary Mr Vis Naidu; Head of Primary Mr Mohamed Elbotaty and Student Council Captain Naziihah Hafidi, each representing their respective department.
Students have been busy in making gift packs for staff as a token of appreciation over the past few days at lunch time. Video messages from students were shared with and personalised handwritten messages displayed for staff to read.
On behalf of our ASC Student Representative Council, we would also like to thank our admin staff, librarian as well as our Maintenance, IT and Canteen teams for their ongoing support and help towards all our SRC-run events.
