Our Year 8 and 9 LEAP students had the exciting opportunity to participate in a "Walking Multicultural Tour of Melbourne City" on last Wednesday, 5th June 2024. It was an incredible experience for all involved.
The tour began at Federation Square and moved through the laneways and landmarks of the city, concluding at the QV Centre. The tour guides highlighted how different waves of immigration have shaped the development of Melbourne. The students learned about the important contributions of Immigrants to the history of our city and how these different groups had an impact and made a difference.
Throughout the day, students learned about the importance of multiculturalism and how embracing diversity has made Melbourne a dynamic and inclusive city. They returned to school with a deeper appreciation for the cultural richness that surrounds them and a greater understanding of their city’s history.
It was a memorable day that allowed the students to engage in Real-Life Learning and Responsible Citizenship, which are at an important part of our College values. Thanks to all the Learning Enrichment Team and Administration staff who helped to make the excursion happen – there were many smiling faces at the end of the day.
