Year 11 Psychology Exploring Visual Perception at ArtVo

Our Year 11 VCE Psychology class (Unit 2) recently visited ArtVo at Docklands, to explore concepts of visual perception and depth cues in an interactive and immersive way.

Students engaged with the gallery’s stunning 3D artworks, which use optical illusions to challenge and enhance their understanding of depth perception, figure-ground relationships, and perceptual constancies.

This hands-on experience allowed students to witness firsthand how visual cues such as texture, perspective, and shading influence the way we perceive and interpret visual stimuli, making for a memorable and educational outing.

"As you walk through its galleries, you don’t just view the art – you become a part of it. It was truly an amazing experience for our class." – Zakaria Mohamed (Year 11)
