SRC Farewell Tribute to the Year 12 Class

The Student Representative Council (SRC) hosted a memorable event to bid a fond farewell to the Class of 2024. On today’s Friday, 18th October 2024, the Secondary School came together to celebrate the Year 12 Farewell Assembly, marking a significant milestone in the lives of our graduating students.

The assembly was enriched by the insightful words of Principal Mr. Fazeel, Head of Secondary School Mr. Vis, Year 12 homegroup teachers Mr. Mohammed Azim and Ms. Sanaa Fyzoo, as well as Student Leadership Coordinator Ms. Noori. Their speeches were filled with thoughtful reflections and valuable advice, offering encouragement and best wishes as the graduates embark on their future paths.

Outgoing College Captains Mohammad Awwady and Areeba Bilal, along with College Vice-Captains Abdullah Mustafa and Mariam Siddiqui, delivered heartfelt and inspiring valedictory speeches. Their words resonated with everyone in attendance, creating an atmosphere of pride and emotion, and underscoring the unity and resilience of the graduating class.

In recognition of the contributions and achievements of Year 12 students, the SRC took the opportunity to honour the leadership team, including House Captains, House Vice-Captains, Class Monitors, the Media Captain, and SRC members. Their dedication and commitment to the school community were applauded, acknowledging the positive impact they have made during their time at the College.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of Values-In-Action (VIA) certificates and awards to students who had completed their required voluntary service hours. This initiative is not merely a graduation requirement; it serves to equip students with the skills and character needed to contribute meaningfully to society, fostering a global perspective and a commitment to service.

Adding a spiritual dimension to the event, Sheikh Waseem delivered a moving Islamic talk, imparting wisdom and concluding with a heartfelt du’a for the Year 12 students, seeking blessings and guidance as they step into new chapters of their lives.

Prior to the assembly, our graduating students attended a special program with their teachers and staff, exchanging gifts, watching photo and video memories of their years at the College, and concluding with the traditional cutting of the Class of 2024 cake.
