Last week’s Friday, 18th August was a colourful day at the College as we celebrated National Day against Bullying and Violence. Our Secondary students were encouraged to wear a colourful hijab or odd/fun socks to show their support against bullying.
Students in Years 7 to 10 participated in an interactive workshop led and run by our very own Year 10 students Zainab Moola and Afra Shehzad. The workshop covered the following points:
- Definition of bullying
- Types of bullying
- Match the scenario to the type of bullying activity
- Action to take if you are being bullied
- What others can do if they witness bullying
- How we can together stay united and stand up to bullying; and
- Bullying and Islam.
As part of the day’s celebration, our Secondary students were engaged in a "sharing kindness" activity which was enjoyed by both students and staff.
Students have also been encouraged to take part in an anti-bullying poster competition this week. The winner is to be announced at the next fortnightly assembly.
Alhamdulillah, it was a great day of kindness and learning.
