Our Year 5’s had a Science Excursion to the Melbourne Zoo earlier this week where they had the opportunity to observe different animal artefacts and learned about the function and purpose of each part. They gained an understanding of different types of adaptations and how animals in the wild adapt to the environment.
The lesson conducted by the friendly Zoo staff was related to the topic of adaptations that our students are learning about in class. The students were very engaged and listened attentively to the Zoo staff.
After the lesson, the students explored the different parts of Melbourne Zoo to see more amazing animals. They were quick to relate the earlier lessons while observing the various animals along the different trails.
Alhamdulillah, it was an amazing experience for our students!
