Our Year 4 students have been exploring many different types of “forces” in Science this term, using inquiry-based learning to guide curiosity and experimentation.
This week, we wanted to “defeat” gravity by designing and building parachutes that utilise air resistance, with the aim of keeping a hard-boiled egg that was along for the ride, safe from harm! Can a parachute made out of plastic bags and string save an egg from a one-storey fall? We met with some success and some challenges, but learnt with each attempt. Our Year 4’s are ready for more experiments next week!
