Our recent trip to CERES Community Environment Park for the "Student Voice for Sustainability" event was both inspiring and educational. Our sustainability student leaders dove into a range of interactive workshops focused on eco-friendly practices, sustainable living, and the importance of reducing our carbon footprint. From composting and waste management to the role of native plants in supporting local ecosystems, students enjoyed hands-on experiences that brought these critical topics to life.
Returning to the College, our students were buzzing with enthusiasm and new ideas to make our school more sustainable. They took the initiative to form a ‘Green Team,’ which will lead the charge in implementing school-wide projects such as composting food scraps, setting up a recycling program, and encouraging waste-free lunches.
Inspired by their day at CERES, we are also planning to introduce regular sustainability workshops and incorporate more outdoor learning opportunities that focus on environmental care.
This excursion has truly empowered our students to become active voices for sustainability. We are excited to support their passion for the planet and can’t wait to see the positive changes they will bring to our school community!
