LATEST UPDATE
The original plan for Masjid Salaam was announced by Principal Mr Fazeel Arain two years ago. Unfortunately due to unprecedented changes in the building industry, this original plan has become very expensive to build, and is difficult to stage. This led to us reassessing our approach and exploring an alternative concept.
After much consideration and input, we have now agreed upon a preferred design. Our dedicated architects are currently working to refine this design to suit the many requirements we are trying to fulfil.
ANTICIPATED TIMELINE
InShaAllah, we aim to lay the foundations of Masjid Salaam and begin construction in 2025. This does represent a delay from our original projections and unfortunately several factors outside our control have contributed to these delays.
MULTI-PHASED CONSTRUCTION
To manage the project’s financial demands, we now propose to construct the Masjid in stages. This phased approach will mean parts of the Masjid will be accessible at each stage. We will continue raising funds as each stage progresses, ensuring financial stability and minimising disruptions.
SUSTAINABLE FUNDRAISING INITIATIVE
One of the innovative features of the project is the inclusion of sustainable fundraising initiatives. For example, we plan to establish an onsite café, which will serve as a continuous source of revenue for Masjid Salaam’s upkeep and operations. This initiative is part of our broader strategy to maintain the Masjid’s financial stability over the long term.
