After receiving many requests over the years from parents and students, we are privileged to announce the commencement of an Ilm Program at 51Թ, starting in Term 1 of 2020.
This program will provide Al Siraat students an opportunity to study the traditional Islamic sciences at an advanced level and graduate as Islamic scholars.
Kindly review the information provided below. If you are interested in this program and feel that your child meets the admission criteria, please attend the information session next week. You will have a chance to ask questions and take a form to register your interest.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Time Commitment
- Part-time (with mainstream subjects) from Year 7 to Year 12, one year full-time thereafter
Timings
- 7:15am-8:15am Monday to Friday, plus all Arabic, Qurʾān and Islamic Studies periods
- 7:30am – 10:30am Saturday

- Classical Arabic: Syntax (naḥw), grammar, morphology, inflection (ṣarf), literature (adab), phraseology (inshāʾ), eloquence (balāgha)
- Aqīda (Creed, belief system)
- Hadith: (all major compilations)
- Hadith Sciences Uṣūl al-ḥadīth
- Tafsīr: (Translation and Tafsīr of the whole Qurʾān)
- Principles of Tafsīr (Uṣūl al-tafsīr)
- Fiqh
- Principles of Fiqh (Uṣūl al-fiqh)
Admission Criteria
Boys and Girls in Years 7 – 9 who meet admission standards in:
- Academics (A and B grades),
- Qurʾān (memorization of Juzʾ 30 with good tajwīd and fluent recitation),
- Arabic (high achievement in previous Arabic level)
- Behaviour (previous records will be assessed)
