As you may be aware, when 51³Ô¹ÏÍø commenced in 2009, we had a different day structure from most schools. The College commenced earlier in the day and finished earlier in the day. Learning from the many benefits that we found with this structure, we would like to begin a consultation process with the College community to assess the appetite for a change to our current day structure. In addition, this consultation will also include considerations in relation to an alternate school calendar (also around an earlier start and finish to the year with a break in Ramadan).
The College has now become a significant community of over 940 students, 500 families and 125 staff. We understand that any changes to the school day and / or school year may have a significant impact on community members. For this reason, we will be consulting with all the key stakeholders including parents, staff and students.
The consultation with staff has already commenced. We are now commencing the consultation process with parents. This will involve:
- Step 1: Information / Consultation Sessions
- Step 2: Parent Surveys
- Step 3: Communication of Results
You are all invited to attend one of the following Information Sessions to learn more about the proposals being considered.
- Saturday, 28 July – 9:30am : TEAMS Building
- Monday, 30 July – 2:30pm : Assembly Room
- Monday, 30 July – 6:15pm : TEAMS Building
