COUNCIL PROVIDES THE MISSING LINKS
MORE than two kilometres of ‘missing’ footpaths are currently under construction as part of Council’s commitment to improve connectivity throughout the municipality.
The footpaths have been upgraded as part of the Missing Links Program which will see more than $450,000 worth of pavement constructed in four areas.
As new residential and commercial developments are constructed, footpaths are developed. This often results in a number of missing pedestrian links between the different residential zones and commercial precincts. Often pedestrians accessing these areas need to resort to unstable and unsafe pathways when accessing these areas.
The first of the missing links to be completed was the 500 metres stretch along Harvest Home Road form the Epping RSL to Epping Road in Epping North.
Footpaths on the west side of Epping Road from Harvest Home Road to Numurkah Commons in Epping North, west side of Epping road from Lyndarum Drive to Woodcutters Grove in Epping North and south side of McDonalds Road in Epping are currently under construction and due to be completed this financial year.
