A proud moment for the College: Al Siraat is delighted to announce that one of our Primary students and two staff members were nominated for the prestigious "Australian Citizen of the Year" awards.
They were formally announced and presented at the City of Whittlesea Australia Day celebrations on 26th January 2016.
College Principal Mr Andrew Houghton and Year 3-4 Coordinator Ms Noori Ahmad were both nominated for the "Australian Citizen of the Year" award. We would like to congratulate them on their nominations.
Congratulations and Mabrook to Year 4 student Mariam Moeladawilah for winning the "Young Australian of the Year" award. Mariam was presented with the award by Mayor Cr Stevan Kozmevski inside the council hall before being escorted to the main festival stage outside where she received the official award from tv and radio icon John Blackman.
