Recently, Year 10 and 11 students attended an informative presentation by the Sunnah Doctor, organised in collaboration with Islamic Relief. This session focused on the significance of prophetic foods and herbs as endorsed by the Quran and Hadith.
The Sunnah Doctor, renowned for integrating traditional Islamic teachings with modern health practices, began the session by introducing the concept of Sunnah medicine. This holistic approach is rooted in the practices and recommendations of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Presentation included:
- Prophetic Foods: The doctor highlighted nutritious foods like dates, honey, grapes, linking their health benefits to their mention in Islamic texts.
- Herbal Remedies: A discussion on herbs, particularly black seed (Nigella sativa), emphasised their recognised healing properties, supported by scientific research.
- Healthy Lifestyle: Students were encouraged to maintain a balanced lifestyle, incorporating regular exercise and sleep as well as the benefits of Hijama.
*We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Islamic Relief and The Sunnah Doctor for providing our students with vital knowledge to integrate their faith into health and nutrition. *
