Last Thursday, 9 December 2021, was a truly special evening for our Year 6 students who celebrated the end of their Primary School years with a festive event held in our brand new auditorium assembly hall.
The three hour event saw our 94 Year 6 graduates dressed in their finest, looking mature and all grown up. The Year 6 Farewell Dinner was organised to celebrate the achievements of our Year 6 students: Despite the difficult year with disruptions caused by COVID outbreaks, the students got through the year with flying colours. Their patience and resilience in continuing their learning journey throughout the year was admirable.
We would like to acknowledge the hard work and effort of Ilham Akkad and Ahmed Khan who did a tremendous job as our Master of Ceremony for the night. The dinner started off with Aayan Ahmad from HIFZ B doing a beautiful Qur'an recitation, followed by Acknowledgement of Country by Mariam Aldanaf from G6. Mr Vis, Mr Fazeel and Ms Rahat gave short speeches and provided valuable advice to the Year 6 students moving on to their new journey in Secondary School.
This was followed by a reflective speech by Jannah Dacre and Aleeza Chaudry from G4. We also had a light-hearted recollection by Fatima Shaikh of G5 and Adam Dacre of B2, sharing with the students their journey from Foundation to Year 6.
Our Canteen cooked up a storm of delicious dinner treats while the graduates' tables were being tended to by 17 fabulous student helpers from our Year 5 cohort. Heartfelt thanks goes to all of those 17 students for their diligence and service throughout the evening, from setting up and helping behind the scenes to taking photos, handing out dinner and cleaning up afterwards: You have all done a fantastic job in making the night special for our graduates and staff present, mashaAllah.
We would like to recognise the effort of Ms Mehreen and the Year 5/6 Team for all their efforts in planning and organising this joyful event.
We would like to extend our best wishes to our Year 6 students on their future endeavours. May they have success in whatever they do, inShaAllah.
