A Science incursion was arranged this week for our Year 4 and Hifz students to introduce the topic of "Weathering and Erosion".
The Year 4's are covering this topic during the first 4 weeks of Term 2. In this exciting 90-minute incursion, students learnt about the natural processes of weathering and erosion to gain an understanding of how humans impact the landscape we inhabit. They investigated the ‘rock cycle’ and classified samples of sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks.
The incursion challenged students to link the effects of different human activities on the earth’s surface to changes in the landscape. The passionate science educators carefully guided students through each step, prompting them to predict, observe and reflect on each activity.
