Students from our four Foundation classes were very excited to welcome Ms Rahat’s cat ‘Cookie’ in their classrooms this week. This visit formed a part of the literacy experience we provided the children with.
Before the visit, the children had been introduced to the word “cat” and had been practicing using their phoneme fist to sound out the three phonemes (Speech Sounds) c- a –t which form the word cat. During "Cookie’s" visit, the children were provided with numerous opportunities to build upon their existing knowledge about a cat.
Afterwards, some children wrote recount sentences about Cookie’s visit to their class. Alhamdulillah, what an amazing experience it was!
