Hifz Graduation 2024

6 November 2024

Alhamdulillah, our 2024 Hifz Graduation was a joyous celebration of faith, perseverance, and accomplishment. The event began with a beautiful recitation of the Qur'an by Ustadh Mubashir, setting a heartfelt tone for the day. Ms Rahat, our esteemed Deputy Principal and College Co-Founder, then gave a warm welcome, honouring the achievements of our Hifz graduates.

The graduates were celebrated with a red carpet entrance, accompanied by a heartfelt nasheed performance by their fellow Hifz students. One by one, each graduate was invited onto the stage to recite their final sabaq (lesson) and share reflections on their Hifz journey, marking the culmination of years of dedication and commitment to memorising the Qur’an:

  • Iraj Mohammad (Year 4)
  • Fatiha Rubab (Year 5)
  • Sumayya Hussain (Year 7)
  • Aasiya Hussain (Year 8)
  • Bilal Mir (Year 8)
  • Fatima Zoe (Year 8)
  • Hannah Faroqui (Year 8)

  • Zuhaa Asif (Year 8)
  • Shafiqah A'Ishah Baswedan (Year 9)
  • Muhammad Tariq Mir (Year 10)
  • Aisha Asmal (Year 12).

Mufti Ziyad delivered an inspiring speech, imparting wisdom and encouragement that resonated with all present. The highlight of the event was the awards ceremony, where the achievements of each graduate were formally recognised. Male graduates were honoured with the traditional ‘Ammamah by special guests, Sheikh Waseem and their respected teacher, Ustadh Nizam. Ms Rahat’s mother had the honour of crowning the female graduates, who also received certificates and trophies from their Hifz teachers, celebrating their incredible accomplishments.

A special moment of joy followed as Ms Hafsa presented a surprise video tribute, capturing the journey and memories of the Hifz students. The excitement and happiness in the room were palpable, and we extend our gratitude to Mr Adam for his assistance in creating this meaningful video.

In addition to celebrating the students, tokens of appreciation were presented to key figures who played a pivotal role in the Hifz program’s success. Ms Rahat was honoured for her unwavering support in establishing the Hifz program at Al Siraat, alongside the dedicated Hifz teachers who have guided each student on their journey. Special appreciation was also given to Sheikh Waseem for his invaluable guidance, support, and prayers.

The program concluded with a heartfelt dua led by Sheikh Waseem and a cake-cutting ceremony with the graduates, symbolising both a celebration and a prayer for their continued success.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all special guests who attended, including Mr Shahzad, Mr Bilal, Ms Leah, Mr Bajram, and Mr Sulaiman, whose efforts helped make the trophies and certificates possible. We also thank our Ilm students for their tireless work in setting up the event and assisting throughout, with special mentions for Shahim, Hamdan, Suliaman, Ghaisah Khan, Zainab, Aminah, Ayesha Atif, Hafsah Tanvir, Hamna, Khadija Siddiqui, Nazeefa, Aisha Kimura, and Fatimah Shaikh.
