‘Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers’. – Charles W. Elio
Al Siraat is delighted to announce the opening of the Mini Library where students can go and borrow books on their own interest.
A library plays a vital role in promoting the interest in reading books which helps the students to explore and progress their knowledge and language comprehension. The aim of the Mini Library is to engage the students and develop their interest towards reading.
The new Mini Library was officially opened during a special staff assembly last Friday, 31 August 2018, when Literacy Week commenced. Staff enjoyed a guided tour by Ms Mehreen and was treated to cake and other delicious food to mark this special occasion.
Our Junior Years students will be timetabled to go to the library during their class time, being accompanied by their teacher. Middle and Senior Years students can go to the library to borrow books during every recess and lunch time. Students can borrow one book at a time which they are allowed to keep for a week.
We would like to thank and acknowledge Ms Mehreen for her dedication and hard work to set up our College Mini Library and have it ready for the start of Literacy Week.
